I’ve been meaning to do a deep dive into the HER series and make revisions for a few years now. There was some outdated language and technology in the books that I’ve been itching to address and, this year, I finally earmarked the time to get it done. For those who don’t know, I started writing my first book, HER SANCTUARY, when I was pregnant with my daughter who is now in her 4th year of university. And HER LAST CHANCE was the second book I ever wrote even though it wasn’t released until much more recently.
So, my light edit turned into a massive endeavor that took months longer than anticipated LOL (my inner perfectionist really struggled to revise old work). I found a great new proofreader to bring fresh eyes to the stories. And my incredible cover designer found exactly the right look for the series. I’m so pleased with how these books came out!
The stories are essentially the same. No big surprises. No plot twists although there is a character mentioned now that a few of my COLD JUSTICE readers might recognize. But I am hoping the overall quality is improved.
I have to tell you that revising old work is hell. Pure hell. But worth it. Really worth it for me.
Oh, and readers ask me all the time about Ryan. All I can say is keep reading the new COLD JUSTICE books and you might get a surprise.
Two things to note:
1) The box set does not yet have an updated cover but the interior files should be the revised stories.
2) Although the Audiobooks have updated covers the recordings are not updated. They are the original stories.
BUT, TONI, I ALREADY PURCHASED THE EBOOK. WHAT DO I DO NOW? CAN I GET THE UPDATED VERSIONS?
Yes! And here is how you do it:
Kindle
If you have automatic updates on, the new versions will automatically come through.
How to turn on automatic updates:
Go to Manage Your Content and Devices.
Click the Preferences tab
Scroll to Automatic Book Update
Choose On.
How to get the update if you don’t have automatic updates on:
Go to Manage Your Content and Devices.
Find HER SANCTUARY (or whatever book)
It should say “Update available”
Click on that!
Nook
Nook doesn’t automatically update books
To get the new version
Find HER SANCTUARY (or whatever other) in your Nook library
Use the settings to Archive it (don’t delete it!).
Redownload it – Once you’ve purchased a NOOK Book, you can access and download it as many times as you want, as long as you have not deleted it from your NOOK Library.
Apple
Apple just pushes out updates automatically. Phew!
Google Play
To get the update, you must download the file again.
The help desk guy told me that when you open up the book, you should receive a notification to download the file again. So do that!
